claritromycine po 500mg 2dd 7 days

azitromycine po 500mg 1dd 3 to 5 days

or

levofloxacine po 500mg 2dd 7 days

or

moxifloxacine po 400mg 1dd 7 days

behandelduur bij goede klinische respons: doxycycline, claritromycine en fluorochinolonen: 7 dagen, bij azitromycine 3-5 dagen

General comments

  • alternatief voor doxycycline iv is erytromycine iv 1000mg 4dd 14 dagen
  • de microbiologische diagnostiek berust vooral op het aantonen van specifieke IgG en IgM antistoffen; iom arts-microbioloog is het ook mogelijk Chlamydia psittaci aan te tonen middels PCR (DNA detectie).
  • psittacose (verwekker C. psittaci) is een meldingsplichtige ziekte, groep C.
